Am I guaranteed a reservation if I purchase a presale entry?
Presale entries do not guarantee a reservation spot, however, participants who purchase a presale registration significantly increase their chances of securing a reservation for one of their preferred dates.
Cost is $20 per person, up to 12 people per reservation. The presale fee is nonrefundable and does not apply to the cost of the reservation. The trip leader who purchases the presales entry will be charged the full presale amount.
Will I be automatically charged for the selected date? What if I am unable to go?
No, the credit card on file will be charged the full amount once you have you have accepted the awarded date.
How many presale reservations are available?
The number of presale reservations available is determined by the number of requests for a given day.
When will the presale site be available?
Beginning at 8 am Arizona time on Monday, December 16, 2024 and ending on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 5 pm Arizona time, Havasupai Reservations account holders will have the opportunity to participate in the 2025 reservation presale.
- Campground presale entries will be an available option from your account at HavasupaiReservations.com.
- Lodge presale entries will be an available option from your account at HavasupaiLodge.com.
Online accounts are required to enter the presale.
Can I withdraw my presale reservation before the end of the presale period? Will I still be charged $20?
All presale entries are final and are not refundable. You will only be charged for the reservation when you choose to accept the awarded date.
How much are reservations?
The 2025 rates are:
- $455 per campground permit per person, 3 nights included
- $2,277 per lodge room, up to 4 people, 3 nights included
I have an account on the website but I don't see where the Presale information is on the site.
The link to the presale option will be available at 8 am Arizona time on December 16, 2025.
Do we need to include a PATL in order to participate in the presale?
It is not mandatory, but highly recommended in the event that the original reservation holder is unable to attend. With a designated PATL you can transfer directly to that person rather than use the public transfer portal.
Do we need to list all the people going on our reservation for the presale?
No, all the names are not required, however, it is strongly encouraged to list at least one PATL in the event that the original reservation holder is unable to attend.

General Questions
Distance from Hilltop:
These are approximate:
From Hilltop:
to the Village 8 miles
to Navajo Falls 9.5 miles
to Campground 10 miles
to Mooney 11 miles
to Beaver 13 miles
to Confluence 17 miles
Is it possible to transfer the PATL (potential alternative trip leader) to another person?
Yes, as long as the person is listed on your original reservation.
Can I transfer part of the reservation, some people can’t make it now?
There is no need to “transfer” the reservation as long as the same number of people are going. If you no longer need all the permits on your reservation, you can transfer some or all of your permits.
What hotel is closest to the trailhead?
We recommend Grand Canyon Caverns, 928-422-3223, option 1. This is also the location for permit check-in.
Can I book the helicopter?
AirWest provides helicopter transportation services. Masks will be required if you are in the Village waiting for the helicopter to depart.
Is it possible to have two different reservations under the same name?
Yes, multiples can be purchased by the same person, if available. However, each reservation needs to have a unique trip leader. People who purchase multiple reservations should only list themselves once as Trip Leader on one of those reservations, and have others listed as Trip Leaders on the other reservations. You will need to transfer the reservation to your PATL prior to check-in.
Are there special rates for members of other Tribal communities?
Generally Tribal members with a CIB (certificate of Indian Blood) can visit for free. The individual needs to make and pay for the reservation and upon arrival needs to present CIB info, then following their trip, they submit a request for reimbursement to support@havasupaireservations.com. Each person is required to show their CIB in order to be reimbursed.
Are children allowed?
There are no age restrictions, however due to the many challenges and hazards of bringing young children (distance, elevation, remoteness, climate, extreme weather, challenging terrain, water hazards, lack of medical facilities, etc.), bringing young children is NOT recommended.
Please note: There are no public health facilities in the village. In the event of an injury, it may take many hours to get treatment or be transported out of the canyon. Trained emergency rescue teams are not available in the village. In case of an emergency, helicopter transportation is necessary, and the financial cost will be high and family members will not be taken with the patient but will need to find their own way out of the canyon. The cost of evacuation is solely the responsibility of the injured party.
Children 6 years old and younger do not require a reservation, they are admitted free with a valid reservation holder. Children 7 and older require a paid reservation.
Are dogs allowed?
No, no animals are allowed.
Food storage
ALL visitors must protect their food and trash (and everything else with an odor) at ALL times – we strongly encourage the use of a bear canister or similar food storage option (available for rent or purchase at many outdoor gear retailers like REI and also via online stores like Amazon).
While there are NOT any bears in Havasupai, there are plenty of other critters that will be relentless in their attempts to get into your food and trash. YOU are responsible for not letting them do so.
ALL food, trash, and everything with an odor should ALWAYS be kept in Ziploc Freezer Bags or, ideally, in odor-proof bags like OPSAK Odor-Proof Barrier Bags. This is to cut down on the odor, keep your food and trash separate and organized, and also keep your bear canister clean.
It is recommended that ALL unattended food and trash bags should be kept in your bear canister or similar food storage option at ALL times in a secure location OUTSIDE of your tent.
We look forward to welcoming you.
